Exploring Strategic Collaboration Between IODA and ATOAI

A productive and forward-looking meeting took place in New Delhi between Mr. Jackson Peter, Executive Board Member of the Indian Ocean Divers Association (IODA), and Mr. Ajeet Bajaj, President of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI).

During the meeting, Mr. Jackson Peter introduced the mission, vision, and objectives of IODA, highlighting the organization’s commitment to promoting sustainable diving practices, regional collaboration, and ocean conservation across the Indian Ocean region.

Mr. Ajeet Bajaj—an accomplished adventurer and certified PADI Rescue Diver with extensive diving experience around the globe, including in the Maldives—expressed deep appreciation for IODA’s initiatives. He welcomed the idea of closer cooperation between the two organizations and proposed formalizing the relationship through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster joint activities and mutual support within India.

Both leaders recognized the potential synergy between IODA and ATOAI, and agreed that a strategic partnership could significantly contribute to the growth of the adventure and dive tourism sectors in the region. Plans are now underway to explore collaborative projects that align with their shared values of safety, sustainability, and regional connectivity.
